The IMA has adopted a Translation Policy to set out how we will operate in terms of translation of our services.
In drafting this policy, we have taken into account not only the legal requirements but the practical cost and timescale of carrying out translation.
There is no legal requirement to translate into any other language other than Welsh if requested.
We also anticipate our stakeholders will have a basic understanding of English to work/reside in the UK and Gibraltar. Therefore, the principle language of the IMA is English.
We are aware that there may be exceptional circumstances where citizens cannot communicate with us in English; and we will therefore work with family members, nominated third parties and advocates who can speak English in these cases.
