The Freedom of Information Act (FOI) gives you the right to request access to unpublished information held by the Independent Monitoring Authority (IMA), unless a specified exemption applies.

Please provide us with as much detail as possible when making a request to access information, including the following:
- Your full name and contact details (address and/or e-mail address)
- Details of the information or documents you would like access to
- Your preferred method of communication (letter, e-mail, etc)
Once you have submitted a request for access to information, we will provide a response within 20 working days or contact you to explain why it may take longer and agree a new date.
Subject Access Requests (SAR)
A Subject Access Request (SAR) allows an individual (or a party on behalf of the individual) to make a written request for information which they are entitled to ask for, as it relates to that individual, under Article 12 and 15 of the UK GDPR, and Data Protection Act 2018 and may be held by the Independent Monitoring Authority (IMA).
