The IMA is reviewed UK government plans to ensure citizens with EUSS status, who are true beneficiaries of the Agreements, are not required to re-prove their eligibility to access rights. A statement on this issue has been published here.
The IMA contributed to the consultation on the Border Security Asylum and Immigration Bill and the Act is now in force.
Clause 42 addresses the identified concern—that EUSS status holders, as beneficiaries of the Agreements, should not be required to re‑establish eligibility to access rights—and we are now working with individual public authorities to ensure their processes and procedures reflect the new legislation.
